Goya Awards

The Goya Awards are the principal national film awards presented in Spain, organized by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences. Established in 1986, the awards aim to recognize and honor excellence in the Spanish film industry, celebrating various categories including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress, among others. Named after the famous Spanish painter Francisco de Goya, the awards are often considered the Spanish equivalent of the Academy Awards (Oscars) in the United States. The ceremony is held annually and features a wide array of nominees, reflecting the achievements of filmmakers, actors, and production teams within Spain’s film landscape.
