Sporting CP

Sporting CP, short for Sporting Clube de Portugal, is a Portuguese sports club based in Lisbon. Founded in 1906, it is one of the “Big Three” clubs in Portugal, alongside SL Benfica and FC Porto. While the club is best known for its football (soccer) team, it is also involved in various other sports, such as athletics, basketball, and futsal. The club’s colors are green and white, and its mascot is a lion, symbolizing strength and courage. Sporting CP has a rich history in Portuguese football, having won numerous domestic league titles and national cups, as well as achieving success in European competitions. The club is known for its youth academy, which has produced several prominent players who went on to have successful careers both domestically and internationally. The home stadium of Sporting CP is the Estádio José Alvalade, located in Lisbon.
