Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played between two players (singles) or two teams of two players each (doubles). The objective is to hit a ball over a net into the opponent’s court in such a way that the opponent cannot return it. The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, with various surfaces such as grass, clay, or hard court. Players score points by successfully hitting the ball in a way that the opponent fails to return it within the boundaries of the court. The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the “Official Rules of Tennis” established by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Tennis matches are played in a best-of-three or best-of-five set format, with players needing to win a certain number of games to win each set. The game requires physical agility, strategic thinking, and precision in ball placement. Tennis is popular globally, with major tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open being some of the most prestigious events in the sport.
